meScan is designed with privacy in mind. Your documents and data are stored locally on your device by default. We do not access or store your document content on our servers unless you explicitly choose to use cloud backup features.

3.2 Cloud Backup

If you choose to use cloud backup services (iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), your data will be stored according to the privacy policies of those third-party services. We do not have access to your cloud-stored documents.

3.3 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest
  • Secure password hashing and storage
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls and authentication requirements

HOWEVER, NO METHOD OF TRANSMISSION OVER THE INTERNET OR ELECTRONIC STORAGE IS 100% SECURE, AND WE CANNOT AND DO NOT GUARANTEE ABSOLUTE SECURITY. Despite our security measures, we cannot guarantee that your information will be completely secure from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. You acknowledge and agree that you transmit data to us at your own risk.

We are not liable for any security breaches, unauthorized access, data loss, or other security incidents that may occur due to factors beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to force majeure events, cyber attacks, malware, ransomware, third-party service failures, or acts of third parties. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, OR CURRENTNESS OF ANY DATA, INFORMATION, OR CONTENT STORED, PROCESSED, OR TRANSMITTED THROUGH THE SERVICE. You are solely responsible for:

  • Ensuring that your documents, content, and data are correct and up-to-date
  • Maintaining independent backups of all important data and documents
  • Verifying the accuracy of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) results and any extracted text

We are not liable for any errors, inaccuracies, omissions, corruption, or loss of data, documents, or information, regardless of the cause. This includes but is not limited to errors in OCR processing, data corruption, system failures, user errors, or any other factors. You acknowledge that you use the Service and rely on any data or information at your own risk.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Service, conducting our business, or serving our users, subject to confidentiality agreements

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NEITHER LANDWORKS SERVICES LLC NOR ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, INCOME, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
  • LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES
  • REPUTATION DAMAGE OR HARM TO BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS
  • EMOTIONAL DISTRESS OR MENTAL ANGUISH
  • BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, OR COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM SECURITY BREACHES, DATA BREACHES, OR PRIVACY VIOLATIONS
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, INTEGRATIONS, OR EXTERNAL FACTORS
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM DATA ERRORS, CORRUPTION, OR LOSS

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

The foregoing limitations shall apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and shall survive termination of your use of the Service. For additional terms regarding liability limitations, please refer to our Terms of Service.
